Get to Know SheJumps

June 06, 2019

We started Wild Rye with the mission to bring women beautiful, technical and well-fitting mountain apparel.  Why? To get more women outside feeling confident! We quickly realized the parallels with our mission and non-profit, SheJumps, and have been proud partners since the launch of Wild Rye.

While we provide the gear to help more women play outside, SheJumps provides the ever-important education and funding. We want to help you get to know the organization a bit better here.

What does SheJumps really do?

SheJumps increases the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities to foster confidence, leadership, and connection to nature and community through free and low-cost outdoor education.

The organization is designed to create opportunities to Jump In, Jump Up, and Jump Out and since its launch in 2007, the organization has created outdoor opportunities for over 15,000 women and girls.

How does SheJumps fulfill its mission?

SheJumps runs a series of programs to fulfill its promise to not only increase participation in outdoor activities for women, but also ensure that younger generations have the resources they need to get outside through adventure, education, and community building.

Tell me more about the organization's programming!

Outdoor Education: Outdoor education programs focus on providing technical skills for all abilities and endeavors in the outdoors. All initiatives facilitate educational opportunities that cater to the specific needs of each community.

Wild Skills: Wild Skills is geared toward building life skills, and empowering ownership and confidence through exposure to positive female role models, supportive communities and the outdoors. These programs exist to give girls and young women the opportunity to know what it’s like to have dirt under their feet, sun on their cheeks, and wind in their hair.

Get The Girls Out: SheJumps' ‘Get the Girls Out’ program focuses on connecting girls and women in our communities with inspiring and dedicated female outdoor enthusiasts.

150+ events in 19 states this year

We couldn’t be more proud to collaborate with SheJumps and further our missions together. If you're so inclined, we encourage you to consider supporting the organization in any way that you can through volunteering, donating or just spreading the word.  SheJumps' annual fundraising campaign is in full-force now.  Consider donating here.
