WHAT INSPIRES US: Women of the World Cup
The goals gave us all the goose bumps, but hearing the crowd chant “equal pay” at the close of the World Cup Final? Oh hell yeah. Major moment. We saw so many great articles come out during and after the Women’s World Cup. Check out a couple of our favorites below. Hats off to these badass ladies who inspire us both with their strength and femininity!
WHAT WE'RE EATING | Go-To Kale Salad
A friend (actually, our Wild Rye fit model!) made this for the first time at a Friendsgivemas, and it became an instant classic. Brilliant trick: add pomegranate arils or raspberries for color and a little tangy sweet or rotisserie chicken to make it an easy full-on meal. Your friends and family will be asking for the recipe, we guarantee it. It’s worth the chopping, we promise!
Pro tip: Use your VitaMix (or food processor) in “pulse” mode to speed up the brussel sprout shredding.
WHAT HELPS US MOVE FORWARD| Nora McInerny TED Talk
I’m no stranger to loss, especially in the last couple of years. It can be awkward, clunky and downright devastating...and it’s often difficult to know what to say. In this candid, sweet, funny and oh-so poignant TED Talk, Nora talks about her own journey through grief and how she’s helped others—on either side—move forward, not move on.

WHAT WE'RE WATCHING | The Bachelorette Standing Up to Slut Shaming
We know, we know...it’s not reality and it’s about as basic as it gets. But if we’re being honest, we love a Monday night with some mac and cheese, a glass of wine and some good old drama courtesy of the Bachelorette or the Bachelor. Hannah Brown gets the Wild Rye rose after telling off Luke P. for trying to control her sexuality with, “I had sex, and Jesus still loves me.” If that doesn’t deserve a hallelujah emoji, we don’t know what does.

I’ve got some summer beach read reccs for y’all!
I’ve been reading (and absolutely loving) Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s Fleishman is in Trouble. I reread Maria Semple’s Where’d You Go Bernadette in honor of the film coming out and was reminded how good good good it was. And finally, I picked up a copy of Les Liasons Dangereuse, another amazing epistolary novel.

If you haven’t read it yet, The Power by Naomi Alderman!! You won’t regret it! For a fun read, I really enjoy the Veronica Speedwell books by Deanna Rayborne.
