National Sales Manager

Position Title: National Sales Manager
Reports To: CEO

Location: Sun Valley, ID, preferred. Remote may be considered for the right candidate - located near a major airport within the Rockies is non-negotiable.

Wild Rye is a small, growing B-Corp certified brand based in Sun Valley, ID that’s dedicated to crafting beautiful and technical mountain apparel for all who identify as women that inspires confidence and welcomes more women into the outdoors. We’re a small but mighty team looking for some added (wo)man power. Wild Rye is seeking a hard-working individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our team at our HQ in Idaho! This position is a full-time, in house position. 

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, empathetic and outgoing person with a passion for going above and beyond to provide support to our sales team and retail partners.  As a part of the Wild Rye team, you will be expected to wear many hats. That said, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, expand market presence, and enhance customer relationships. This role requires a results-oriented leader who can motivate the sales team, analyze market trends, and identify new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Sales Strategy: Create and implement comprehensive sales plans that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales representative network. Provide coaching and mentorship to maximize performance and professional growth as needed. Work with internal and external team to develop tools that enable outside sales reps to be successful .
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth. 
  • B2B: Manage wholesale GTM strategy and B2B seasonal content roll-outs in collaboration with marketing.
  • Develop: Seasonal sales materials including but not limited to MAP policies, sales programs, price lists, etc and support the development of sell-in materials (in collaboration with marketing & product).
  • Wholesale Marketing: Proactively work with the marketing team to recommend and brief marketing materials needed to increase sell-through.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, sales representatives, and partners. Act as a primary point of contact for key accounts, including but not limited to REI, Title Nine, Evo.
  • Sales Forecasting: Analyze sales data and trends to prepare accurate sales forecasts and budgets, in collaboration with rep force. Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Customer Engagement: Enhance customer experience through regular communication, feedback collection, and addressing concerns to improve product offerings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align sales initiatives with product launches and promotional campaigns. Proactively work with other departments to ensure all sales materials are executed at the highest level and delivered according to timelines.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports for senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Trade Shows and Events: Identify, plan and represent the company at industry trade shows and other key events meet with existing partners and foster new business opportunities.
  • Administrative: Sales-related administrative tasks will be required. 
  • Misc: Additional special projects as they arise, as approved by the manager.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the outdoor apparel or related industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a sales team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Passion for the outdoors and understanding of outdoor sports and consumer needs, particularly within the cycling, snowsports and general outdoor categories.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, B2B software, Analytics software, Microsoft Office and G-Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

This position is based in Sun Valley, ID. The Wood River Valley provides incredible access to mountain biking  and other adventures in the summer as well as both lift-served and backcountry skiing and riding in the winter.
