Llamas Mahogany - Possibly the print we’re most excited about this season, our new llama print is a modern interpretation of one of our OG fan-favorite prints.

Ginkgo Blush - the ginkgo print was such a hit last fall, we decided to bring it back in a new colorway.

Lily Black - Our new lily pattern is a harmonious blend of femininity and strength, much like the women of Wild Rye. This pattern is an artistic representation of the shared experiences, challenges, and triumphs found in nature; a reminder that adventure and elegance can coexist in the most unexpected ways.

Sunflower: Often referred to as the “happy flower,” we couldn’t think of anything better than a fun sunflower print to welcome longer days and warmer temps.

Koi Pond: Known to swim against the current and overcome great obstacles, koi symbolize strength, courage, patience, and success through perseverance.

Mahogany: Yes. We’ve finally done it. Wild Rye has gone solid, and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited. And where better to start than this rich red that pairs with pretty much anything.

Lotus Greyscale:  A symbol of strength, resilience and rebirth, the Lotus print is a nod to women everywhere. Who could possibly be stronger or more resilient?Wear these shorts with pride, knowing you’re the baddest b**** around.

Awesome Well-Built Shorts, Conflicting Feelings On Sizing

I own and love several pairs of Wild Rye bottoms and I really like these shorts. They would be perfect with a few adjustments. Let me start off by saying that these shorts are clearly well-made, have great pockets, and are super cute (I purchased the Lotus pattern). I would buy them again based on just this alone.

I think if I were to purchase these shorts again, I would probably purchase them one size larger as others have recommended. My waist measures 28" and my hips are 41" so I am a classic pear shape. Based on my measurements, I ordered these shorts in a size 8. I own the Freda shorts in the Ginko print in a size 8 and the Freyah Pants in the Lotus pattern in a size 6. The shorts are a good length but as others have mentioned, they are a little tight around my butt/thighs. Thankfully, these pants have some stretch to them so I do not feel restricted while riding, I really only notice this tighter fit while standing around. Due to the tighter fit in my hips/butt, I opted not to wear a belt the first couple of times I wore these shorts but I think I will going forward so that the shorts sit properly. One of the times I did not wear a belt, these shorts sat a little lower during my ride and the snaps popped open when I reached down to grab my water bottle. I was able to quickly snap them back but this happened several times during my ride. I'm not sure if stronger snaps would prevent this or if it was because the shorts sat a little lower because I was not wearing a belt. In my dream world, these shorts would have an adjustable velcro waist so I could dial in the fit a little more without a belt.

TDLR: These shorts are awesome and well made, sizing requires a little extra calculation if you are curvy.

Great shorts, very cute pattern. A little snug through the thighs but still wearable. I would order a size up next time

AWESOME

Love these shorts! Super stretchy and forgiving, feels like nothing when I'm riding in them. I ordered a 4 which is typical for me, and they are a bit snug with a chammy underneath but I prefer that over baggy. My other MTB shorts are more loose and having my phone in my pocket really makes them sag which is super annoying - no issue with that in these shorts! I've gotten many compliments already, wish I could order all the colors!

Freel bike short

I like the shorts but they ran way too small on me. I passed them on to a very slender friend and they were too small on her too. I wonder if they were a mis size? I am a solid 4 in most shorts (Patagonia bike shorts, Majola, Pearl and others)
