We don’t believe in compromise, which is why we made the Kaweah women’s mountain bike short: a do-everything, go-anywhere short that will keep you on the bike during those long summer evenings or chilly fall mornings.

The Kaweah is designed with a durable 90% recycled poly/10% spandex blend to give you a breathable mountain bike short that wicks sweat while moving with your pedal stroke. A DWR finish ensures that even the muddiest puddles won’t dampen your style.

Note: the Kaweah is a slimmer cut with less stretch than the Freel, so when in doubt, size up! If you're looking for a short that accommodates a curvier body, we'd always recommend the Freel over the Kaweah.

Deco Birds: Inspired by our love of all things warm and tropical, our deco birds print will have you dreaming of pina coladas whether you're actually at the beach or just pretending in your local bike park parking lot.

Tie Dye: Throwing it way back with this bright blue tie dye. This print was lovingly and laboriously hand-dyed and then digitized to give it the most realistic "I'm back in the early 2000's" look possible.

Lilac Happy Hour: The happy hour print was inspired by our love of all things aprés. Here at Wild Rye we’re in full support of earning your turns, but we also like the idea that you can earn your aprés, too.

You might be wondering what the difference is between the Kaweah and Freel. The two shorts share a lot in common: water repellency, a great fit, phenomenal style, and durability. The main differences you’ll find are in the fabric and thus the price! The Kaweah is a polyester blend, while the Freel is nylon. If you buy shorts from any of our fellow MTB loving brands, you’ll be familiar with a polyester short. It’s the workhorse. Wild Rye ships via USPS for standard shipping, so please provide your PO Box address if that is how you get your mail (talking to you mountain town people!). Standard shipping is free for orders over $100. For more details on all of our shipping options, see below.

Standard Shipping

Our standard shipping option is USPS Ground Advantage, and is free for orders over $100, or $9 for orders under $100. This shipment method generally takes 3-7 business days to deliver after the package is shipped.

UPS Ground

Prefer to receive packages via UPS? We offer UPS Ground shipping for $12. This shipment method generally takes 2-6 business days to deliver after the package is shipped. PO boxes are not accepted for this shipment method.

UPS 2nd Day Air

UPS 2nd Day Air is our fastest shipping option and costs $35. Shipments can be expected to deliver 2 business days after the ship date. PO boxes are not accepted for this shipment method.

Standard International Shipping

Canadian shipping costs are calculated at checkout and will vary. Canadian orders ship with DHL or UPS and duties and taxes are calculated at checkout.

International shipping (excluding Canada) is $35. Wild Rye does not cover duties, taxes and other fees determined by the customs agency within the destination country. These fees will be due at the time of delivery and are non-refundable.

Purchases made between November 1 and December 25th 2024 have an extended return window to January 15th 2025 or 30 days after purchase, whichever comes later.

We do our very best to keep our products true to size so you can count on your order fitting your body! That said, fit is the hardest part of running an apparel business. 1. Next-to-skin: Out most form-fitting cut. These styles hug the body.

2. Trim: Designed to fit close to the body. Provides room for a next-to-skin layer underneath.

3. Standard: Our athletic fit that provides increased room for range of motion and air circulation.

4. Relaxed: Our loosest fit, designed to drape over the body.
