Where do you live and what’s your day job?

I live in Pocatello, Idaho, and I’m lucky enough to call skiing and freelance writing both of my day jobs. I also teach yoga at Breathe Yoga Community in Pocatello.

What are 3 passions you have outside of work?

My shih-tzu/poodle mix Gary, yoga, mountain biking and just about any activity that gets me outside with friends. I also love to read with my morning coffee, I look forward to it every night I go to bed.

What’s been your biggest “send it” moment—on the mountain or in life?

My biggest “send it” moment probably has to be when I got laid off from Freeskier at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I moved to Idaho from Denver, Colorado, to be with my partner full time, started my freelance business from scratch and sought out my first ski sponsorships since it was no longer a conflict of interest.

Who’s someone that has inspired you to get after it in the mountains?

My life partner, Sander Hadley. He was the first person to encourage me to make skiing my profession and continues to push me in the mountains. He’s taught me everything I know, including snowmobiling, but I still have a lot to learn on that machine.

What’s one piece of gear you swear by?

A mouth guard! Protects your teeth as well as your brain should you take a knee to the face or tumble a couple thousand vertical feet.

How do you help build community in the outdoors?

I try to mentor when and where I can, whether that’s getting my girl friends into backcountry skiing or part of a more formal mentorship program, I want to be a bridge for women to develop and work toward new goals they maybe never thought possible for themselves. Seeing women light up in the outdoors lights me up.

Why Wild Rye?

Wild Rye not only has a seat at the industry table, but is also creating more seats for more women to sit at. I feel welcome and celebrated for exactly who I am and that’s an incredibly empowering dynamic to have with a sponsor.
